HQP appoints First Nations Cultural Advisor

Meet Tolita Dolzan

We're excited to announce we have engaged Tolita Dolzan from Gandan Yarnings as HQP’s First Nations Cultural Advisor to work with us on a weekly basis.

Tolita, pictured here at our Toolara Nursery with Phil Rist from North Queensland's Girringun Corporation, is dedicated to building cultural awareness and understanding to support culturally safe relationships. Tolita is a proud Cobble Cobble woman whose Country is western side of the Bunya Mountains. She grew up on Butchulla Country and is now living on Kabi Kabi Country.

Tolita was a significant contributor to HQP’s recently released First Nations Engagement Framework (and wrote the foreword), is a consultant to the FSC Standards and Development Group representing the social chamber, and is an experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educator – we’re lucky she’ll now also be working with us!

HQP have shown authenticity in building respectful relationships with First Nations People. I believe it is HQP's genuine desire to build cultural responsiveness and create opportunities for meaningful engagement. I look forward to working with HQP's people in creating positive flows and weaves.
