The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Planning Forester for our Regional Planning team. Based at our office in the charming small town of Imbil. Located in the Mary Valley behind the Sunshine Coast, Imbil is less than 50 kilometres southwest of Gympie.
Supporting the Regional Planning Manager, you will drive the development and implementation of operational plans and develop tactical planning frameworks while contributing to work programs across regional operational functions. Through a collaborative approach you will also take on the challenges and opportunities to achieve our custodial and fire management goals including stakeholder engagement.
The Person
Beyond a proactive work ethic driven to achieve high quality results, the skills, qualification, and experience that will help you to thrive in this role include:

Bachelor of Science (Forestry) or equivalent tertiary degree and with at least 5 years forest plantation experience in silviculture, roading, harvesting/haulage, fire management or general plantation management (e.g. stewardship, planning, resources) within a commercial environment.

Fire Sector Commander and appropriate IMT accreditation such as Logistics, Planning, Operations or Incident Controller, or the ability to acquire;

Advanced knowledge of forest stewardship, safety, performance, change, financial, quality and business
management. Advanced business acumen skills in budgeting and financial analysis, project management, planning, scheduling and monitoring of work performance and outcomes, problem solving, and statistical analysis and interpretation. - Advanced information technology knowledge and skills including computer literacy programs such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Highly competent in the use of Forest Management Systems associated with TechnologyOne, Remsoft, GIS, and Geocortex.

Unrestricted “C” class driver’s licence (an unrestricted “MR” class driver’s licence is desirable); and
