State Forests managed by HQPlantations may be closed for public safety and asset protection before, during or after forest operations or extreme weather events including cyclones, strong winds, heavy rainfall or very high fire danger. The public is not permitted to enter the plantations or drive on plantation roads when these forests have been closed, however gazetted road thoroughfares managed by State or Local Government may be still be open, unless otherwise indicated. Similarly, visitors should refer to QPWS park alerts on the status of any campgrounds in these State Forests.
Even when plantations are open, areas within the plantation may be closed for forest operations. These are active worksites subject to Workplace Health and Safety requirements and relevant Codes of Practice. For your safety, please drive to the conditions, comply with all signage and turn around when directed by signage to do so.
