Beerburrum plantation closed due to wet weather

Due to recent heavy rainfall and forecasts of continued wet weather throughout the week, we have temporarily closed plantation areas within Beerburrum State Forest, including plantations around Landsborough, Glass House Mountains, Beerburrum, Wild Horse Mountain, Woodford, Toorbul and Donnybrook.

These closures are necessary to protect public safety and prevent further damage to the plantation road network during saturated ground conditions. The closure applies to all recreational users including:

  • Motorists
  • Motorcycle riders
  • Cyclists
  • Walkers and hikers
  • Horse riders
  • Photographers

Access to plantation areas is restricted during the closure period. In exceptional circumstances, HQPlantations may grant access to approved contractors and permit holders within designated plantation areas.

While plantation roads are closed, some state and local government roads that pass-through plantation areas may remain open. Visitors should check relevant state and local government websites for the latest road and access information.

For information about campground closures or restrictions managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, visit www.parks.des.qld.gov.au.

Safety is our priority. We thank visitors for their patience and understanding while these temporary closures remain in place.

The status of the plantation closure will be reassessed on Monday 26 October 2026.

If you have an enquiry, please use the Contact Us form or call our Beerburrum office on 07 5438 6666.

Plantation closures are enacted under the Forestry Act 1959 and may be enforced by police, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers, and authorised plantation officers.
