Bribie Island Harvest and Re-establishment

Bribie Island Plantation, Bribie Island

HQPlantations (HQP) will commence a low-intensity harvesting operation in its southern pine plantation on Bribie Island from July 2025, at a rate of approximately 100 hectares per year over the next 10 years.

This is a sustainable harvest involving only plantation-grown timber.

We have modified our harvest plan to minimise impacts to residents and road users whilst still meeting our customer’s needs.

Following harvesting, the area will be re-established with southern pine seedlings continuing the ongoing cycle of sustainable plantation timber production, in accordance with HQP’s 99 year plantation licence with the state government.

We are currently working with the City of Moreton Bay to determine the preferred haul route and signage requirements.

Throughout June 2025, we are talking with the Bribie Island stakeholders about the upcoming work. We are holding a community drop in session on Bribie on Tuesday 24 June between 4.30 and 7.30pm. For more information, see here.

We will continue to be open and transparent with the community throughout the harvest and re-establishment operations and listen to any feedback that is provided.

We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation during this important activity.
