Deer Reserve State Forest harvest closure 

HQPlantations will undertake harvesting operations within the Shallcross Logging Area in Deer Reserve State Forest. Operations will continue for several weeks, subject to weather and operational conditions. 

For public safety, the affected area will be closed to recreational users and visitors while operations are underway. Locked gates, signage, and barriers will be in place to identify the restricted areas. 

We ask all forest users, including motorists, hikers, walkers, cyclists, horse riders, photographers, and neighbouring communities, to observe all closures and avoid the affected area during this time. 

Harvesting sites contain heavy machinery, moving vehicles, falling timber and restricted operating zones. Entering these areas poses a significant safety risk. 

We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation while these important operations are undertaken. Please remain cautious and mindful of changed conditions in and around the forest.
