Mary Valley, Passchendaele and Pechey plantations closure
Mary Valley, Passchendaele and Pechey plantations are closed until further notice
Due to recent heavy rainfall and forecasts of continued wet weather throughout the week, we have temporarily closed plantation areas within the Mary Valley, including plantations around Brooyar, Glastonbury, Marys Creek, Amamoor, Mitchell Creek, Imbil, Oakview, Jimmys Scrub, Jimna, Gallangowan and Elgin Vale. In addition, we have closed Passchendaele (includes Pozieres and Gambubal) and Pechey (includes Esk and Geham).
It is essential for public safety that people comply with these closures so responsible access can be restored as soon as it is safe to do so. This applies to all members of the public including walkers, runners, cyclists, horse riders, motor bike riders, drivers and photographers.
Access to plantation areas is restricted during the closure period. In exceptional circumstances, HQPlantations may grant access to approved contractors and permit holders within designated plantation areas.
While plantation roads are closed, some state and local government roads that pass-through plantation areas may remain open. Visitors should check relevant state and local government websites for the latest road and access information.

Safety is our priority. We thank visitors for their patience and understanding while these temporary closures remain in place.
The status of the plantation closure will be reassessed on Monday 2 November 2026. You can check the status of our plantation closures here.
