Pennings Harvest and Re-establishment

From mid-October 2025 to February 2026 (weather permitting), we will harvest an area of mature Araucaria (Hoop Pine) plantation within its plantation licence area in the Benarkin State Forest. See map here

Haulage will be via HQP’s internal road network including Pennings Road and Sid Allery Drive and onto the D’Aguilar Highway near the township of Benarkin. Truck movements for the haulage may be up to 24 trucks movements per day (10-12 in, 10-12 out), generally Monday to Friday, 3:00am- 5:00pm.

Public access is not permitted in harvesting or re-establishment worksites. Regulatory worksite signage will be in place to advise the public of the areas that are not accessible. We ask all road users, hikers and cyclists to observe these closures

HQP aims to re-establish the harvested area over six to twelve months following harvest – weather permitting.
