We're part of a thriving industry

We are proud to be part of a thriving forestry and wood products industry with partnerships and strong associations with the following organisations.

The Joseph William Gottstein Memorial Trust Fund was formed in 1971 to promote the development of Australia’s wood and forest products industry through the pursuit of excellence in people, processes and products.

If you are interested in furthering your experience, education or training in the forest industry within Australia or overseas, consider applying for a fellowship or scholarship.

Applications are usually open from July and close in mid-September each year. Please visit the Gottstein Trust website for more information.

Timber Queensland is the peak timber industry body in Queensland, representing the full industry supply chain which delivers $3.2 billion annually to the state economy. Timber Queensland works to gain the support of politicians, government departments, employers and environmental groups to further develop forest products and the forest product industry on behalf of members like us.

Like HQP, they are committed to creating greater public and political awareness of the forest and timber industries, and the valuable economic and environmental contribution they make to Queensland.

ForestLearning provides free teaching and learning activities, resources and ideas for teachers to integrate forest and sustainability education into school learning programs.

Over 65 resources are available covering Foundation to Year 12 across a range of key learning areas of the Australian Curriculum, including science, geography, HASS, design and technologies, earth and environmental science, mathematics, biology and more. There’s even an innovative ForestVR app to engage students, including some scenes filmed in HQP plantation forests.

ForestLearning’s Forest Education Industry Champion program also equips industry representatives with resources, school contacts and presentations to conduct excursions with school groups. We usually host a Forest Learning field trip with teachers and students each year, along with supporting many other initiatives.

Forestry Australia

Most of our foresters are members of Forestry Australia. Forestry Australia is a professional association for foresters, private forestry, commercial tree growing and all forestry professionals operating throughout Australia.

They advocate for and provide professional development to ensure balanced, integrated forested land use, as well as sustainable management that meets community and environmental needs.

Foresters, growers and practitioners engaged in nature conversation, resource and land management, research, administration and education are welcome to join to gain valuable training and access to industry networks, publications and resources.

Forest & Wood Products of Australia (FWPA) provides national, integrated research and development services to the Australian forest and wood products industry.

They support research and development that promotes internationally competitive and environmentally sustainable practices, and promote activities that enhance employment opportunities and contribute to growing Australia’s reputation as an innovative producer of high-quality forest and wood products.

Their members, who comprise of wood processors, forest growers like us and Australian importers of forest products, receive access to free professional development, benchmarking information and a library of images that can be used for websites and promotional purposes. Please visit their website for more information about membership benefits.

We're a proud member of the Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA), the peak national industry body representing the resources, processing, and pulp, paper and bioproduct industries covering the forest products value chain.

AFPA represents all elements of the value chain, including the sustainable harvesting of plantations, forest establishing and management, harvesting and haulage, processing of timber resources and the manufacture of pulp, paper and bioproducts.
