About the role

Reporting to the Regional Manager - Coastal, the Roading Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of forest road infrastructure, quarries and associated assets across the Coastal Region.

Based across Toolara, Beerburrum and Imbil, you will lead the planning and delivery of road infrastructure investment and maintenance programs across the Coastal Region, ensuring road, bridge, drainage and quarry assets are managed effectively. You will work closely with contractors and operational teams and provide technical leadership across roading operations identifying opportunities to improve asset performance, safety and long-term value.

 

About you

You are an experienced roading, engineering or forestry operations leader who combines sound technical judgement with authentic people leadership. You are confident managing complex programs, engaging contractors and stakeholders, and driving safe, sustainable and commercially sound outcomes.

You will have strong knowledge of road, bridge, drainage and quarry infrastructure management, along with practical experience in asset planning, budgeting, project delivery, contractor management and safety leadership.

 

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor of Forest Science, Engineering or other relevant tertiary qualification, or a Diploma-level forestry or related qualification with extensive road infrastructure management experience.
  • At least five years’ leadership experience with responsibility for infrastructure, asset management, roading, engineering, forestry operations or a comparable asset-intensive industry.
  • High-level technical knowledge of plantation forest roading, transport and logistics, quarry management and forest engineering.
  • Sound understanding of Queensland legislative obligations relating to road and quarry safety, including quarry Site Senior Executive requirements.
  • Demonstrated financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, business case development and performance reporting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • An unrestricted C class driver’s licence.
  • Incident Management Team and Sector Commander fire accreditations, or the ability to acquire.
