The Defined Forest Area (DFA) that we manage consists of land under Plantation Licence and freehold land, as well as plantation production lands and custodial and infrastructure lands.

Southern Pine
HQPlantations grows Caribbean pine (Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis), Slash pine (Pinus elliottii var. elliottii) and an advanced hybrid supporting a large softwood industry that uses the softwood we grow for house framing, flooring, mouldings, beams, plywood, medium density fibreboard, paper and landscaping.

Araucaria
HQPlantations Araucaria cunninghamii (hoop pine) estate represents a rare example of a native rainforest species grown successfully in a plantation environment. It is commonly used for speciality timber products including furniture components, doors and window frames, joinery, fine turnery, musical instruments, and aircraft and maritime construction.
